Today, I woke up to the shocking news that more than 300 rockets had been fired into Israel. I had heard and seen what was happening last night and I thought it would stop or a couple more rockets would have been fired into Israel – which really if I think about it sounds terrible, but sadly it is the reality. And this morning when I woke up and saw the notifications on my phone from an app called Red Alert about how many more rockets had been fired, I was scared. I had around 100 notifications from this app that tells me when ever a rocket has been fired and to where. While i had been sleeping such terrible things had happened that I was not expecting and I was very shocked.

After I saw all these notifications and I got over the shock of it all, I thought to myself, ‘Okay, I’m going to check a couple of pro Israel accounts on Instagram just to make sure I was not mistaken.’ The first account that I opened was Israel’s Defense Forces’ account, and on their story, they put a heartbreaking video of a little girl running to a bomb shelter. And the worst part of this all is the numerous rockets being fired and how the world is being silent. If a terrorist had been murdered because he was trying to kill Jews in Israel and they had killed him out of self-defense the whole world would have reacted but right now what’s happening in Israel with over 700 rockets being fired and dozens injured and 4 people killed no one is speaking up and saying anything.

We are always saying how we do not need a repeat of the Holocaust but in some ways, parts of it are repeating. When Hitler came into power especially before 1940 he was already putting a lot of restrictions onto the Jews and then Kristallnacht happened and the Jews kept on being attacked. The world kept quiet, and because they kept quiet Hitler continued on with his plans and ended up killing 6 million Jews. And something similar is happening now, more than 700 rockets are being fired into Israel citizens are spending all their time in bomb shelters instead of the gorgeous weather outside and these citizens are being killed and injured by these rockets and the world is keeping quiet no one is speaking out about what is happening to Israel. At least this time the Jewish nation has Israel, and we can look at the rockets being fired at a very interesting time right between Yom Hashoah where we commemorate the Holocaust and Yom Haatzmaut where we celebrating the declaration of the country of Israel.
