Welcoming 5786: A Year of Strength, Blessing, and Peace

As we step into the new year of 5786, we pause to reflect on the challenges of the past year and the resilience of the Jewish people. 5785 was a year of battles — not only on Israel’s borders against Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran, but also on another front much closer to home: our college campuses.

The numbers tell a difficult story:

  • 78% of Jewish students hide their Jewish identity.

  • 81% conceal their Zionism.

  • Nearly 3 in 4 Jewish faculty report witnessing antisemitic acts by colleagues.

These realities underscore why Hasbara’s mission is so critical. With your support, we are giving Jewish students the tools, confidence, and pride to stand tall as leaders — prepared to defend their Jewish and Zionist identities in the face of hostility.

Building the Next Generation of Leaders

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Hasbara’s immersive leadership missions to Israel and campus initiatives continue to grow. In the year ahead, we look forward to expanding these programs even further, ensuring the next generation of Jewish leaders is ready for every challenge.

Standing Together

Your partnership is what makes this possible. As we welcome 5786, we are grateful for your support and for standing with Jewish students when they need it most. Together, we can build a stronger, prouder Jewish future.

Shana Tova — may this year bring strength, blessing, and peace to you and your family.
