Alan Levine Named Executive Director of Hasbara Fellowships

Hasbara Fellowships Announces Alan Levine as Executive Director
Hasbara Fellowships announced on February 28th, 2020 that the board of directors has appointed Alan Levine as Executive Director.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Alan Levine’s caliber and experience step up to lead Hasbara Fellowships,” said Founder & CEO, Rabbi Elliot Mathias. “We are at a critical moment and we need renewed leadership to continue to make an impact for Jewish and pro-Israel college students. Alan has extensive experience as a pro-Israel leader with a proven track record of execution. He is a strong communicator, and having trained hundreds of student pro-Israel activists on dozens of campuses, he has a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Alan spent four years with Hasbara Fellowships first as a regional campus advisor, then as managing director.  Subsequently, Alan received his Master’s Degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he studied Arabic and specialized in the history of the US-Israel relationship.  He later spent two years as an Associate Area Director in AIPAC’s (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Los Angeles office. Alan rejoined the Hasbara Fellowships team in February 2017, taking on the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives.  In that role, he has been responsible for engaging communities and developing lay leadership in order to advance Hasbara’s mission on college campuses. Effective immediately, he will be moving into the role of Executive Director.
Alan said, “I am honored and excited to step into this new role. I believe change is coming to our college campuses–pro-Israel and Jewish students are beginning to change the conversation on campuses.  Hasbara Fellows have been at the forefront of that. By continuing to empower Jewish student leaders to stand up for themselves and their beliefs, I believe our movement can have a major impact.”
We look forward to continuing to empower pro-Israel college students to stand up for themselves and for Israel on campuses across the US and Canada. We look forward to growth and to reaching even more students and campuses under Alan’s leadership in the years ahead.
