Happy Passover from Hasbara

When Passover begins tomorrow night, Jews around the world will retell the story of our escape from slavery—but it’s not just history, it’s a blueprint for action.

One of the most powerful moments in the Exodus story comes when G-d commands the Israelites to mark their doorposts with the blood of a lamb, an animal sacred to their Egyptian oppressors. This wasn’t just a spiritual gesture—it was a bold, public act of defiance.

Roasting the lamb so its smell would spread through Egyptian streets made the message even louder: we are done hiding. G-d didn’t need the lamb’s blood to know who to save; He wanted us to step up, take a stand, and claim our freedom with courage.

That same spirit is alive on today’s college campuses. Jewish students aren’t sitting quietly while antisemitism spreads—they’re confronting hate, challenging lies, and defending their communities. When their peers question their identity, they speak out. These students are modern-day participants in the Exodus story, pushing back against a culture that often tries to shame or silence them.

The Seder song Vehi Sheamda reminds us that in every generation, enemies rise against us. But we don’t just survive—we fight back, we speak up, we lead. This Passover, the story of liberation is more than a memory; it’s a call to action. Our Hasbara Fellows and their fellow Jewish students aren’t victims—they’re leaders. They’re making noise. They’re roasting lambs. And with every act of courage, they’re marking their own doorposts with pride.

Thank you for partnering with us to empower our Hasbara Fellows and all Jewish college students. Wishing you and your family a Happy and meaningful Passover.
